"Prank War" is the first segment of the fourth episode (and the seventh story overall) of Close Enough.
Synopsis[]
Bridgette and Emily are put in danger when Josh attempts to prove he's the king of pranks.
Plot[]
Josh's poor social stature gets solidified when his workmates engulf in a prank war and intentionally leave him out of it. Josh keeps interjecting himself into the fray even though he obviously isn't appreciated into the group. Josh confronted his workmates and let them know directly that he wants to be a part of the prank war but his workmates feel less than enthused with him because of his age.
Josh retreats to the safety of the duplex where he tells everybody onboard that he wants to start an organized Prank War. Bridgette calls out Josh instating that they are all too old for pranks. Josh brushes off Bridgette's comments and commences pranking everybody at the duplex, much to the chagrin of everyone else.
Josh's antics continue when he releases snakes into the restaurant that Bridgette and Emily moonlight in as musicians, causing the women to get fired and all of them to get banned.
On his way back to his car Josh encounters a strange man who hides in the bushes and scares people for a living. Josh attempts to use Bush Guy to scare Emily and Bridgette. Josh's plan horribly misfires when Emily and Bridgette beat the Bush Guy into a coma.
The next day Josh and the gang are visiting bush man in the hospital. The police arrive and arrest Emily and Bridgette for beating Bush Guy into a coma. They go on to state that if Bush Guy recovers from his coma and decides not to press charges, Emily and Bridgette will be released from jail.
Josh tries a variety of techniques to resuscitate Bush Guy inclusive of dumping a pail of water and releasing another box of snakes. When Josh's efforts proved to be moot, he starts feeling remorse for his actions until he realized that bush man was responding to the mere mention of Bridgette's name. Josh further realizes that his only hope of getting Bridgette and Emily out of jail is to use Bridgette to wake up Bush Guy.
Josh uses bush man's gurney, Alex and Candice who is on a sugar rush to travel to the Precinct. Upon arrival, Alex uses candy bars to trick Candice into beating up all Police Officers who attempted to stop them. Josh hoists bush man's gurney to stick him head-first into the women's holding cell. Bridgette was initially unable to wake up Bush Guy until Alex instructed her to twist his nipples.
The gang can later be seen back at the duplex where Josh reflects that Prank War wasn't a good idea. Suddenly, the wall behind the couch gave way and the muscular woman from the women's holding cell who stabbed Bridgette in the hand with a fork earlier, grabbed Emily from behind and prison stabs her repeatedly in the torso using her fork, seemingly killing her. Josh started crying until Emily got up and revealed the whole thing to be a prank.
Josh felt amused and ran back to his room to conjure up more pranks, exclaiming to everyone that Prank War was back on, much to Emily's displeasure. The woman from the holding cell tells everyone she had better head back there.
