Pearle Watson is a regular character on Close Enough. She is the landlord of the apartment building where the main characters live, and the adoptive mother of Randy Watson.
She is voiced by Danielle Brooks.
Overview[]
Pearle served as an LAPD Officer in her prime, but has since retired. She lives in the same apartment complex inhabited by Josh Singleton's family and friends, and acts as the building's landlady. Additionally, she has entrusted her adopted son Randy to act as the property manager for the complex.
Pearle is on very good terms with her tenants and is a trusted source of advice or support for them.
Physical Appearance[]
Pearle is an elderly African-American woman of moderately hefty build, and sports pale white hair. She wears an aqua shirt with a seafoam collar, blue pants, white flats, and a pair of narrow eyeglasses with holders attached.

- Reconnaissance - Pearle helped Emily Ramirez spy on Josh and Nikki all over town without the latter two knowing.

- Randy - Pearle is a very loving and nurturing mother to Randy.
- Emily Ramirez and Bridgette Yoshida - Pearle appears to be something of a maternal figure to Emily and Bridgette. In "Prank War", she taught them self-defense. She also helped Emily spy on Josh in "Room Parents".
- Candice - Pearle is like a surrogate grandmother to Candice and often babysits her when the grown ups at her apartment are out partying or her parents have go out and Bridgette and Alex prove to be too incompetent for babysitting.
- Josh - In "Man Up", Pearle trained Josh to be brave so that he could protect his family if they were ever in trouble.
- Alex Dorpenberger - Pearle enjoys listening to erotica written by Alex, and even helped him get one of his works published in "The Erotic Awakening of A.P. LaPearle".
- Her boyfriend - Pearle has a solid and healthy relationship with her boyfriend, who took 13 bullets for her when she was a cop. Pearle's boyfriend later introduced her to his secret nudist utopia in "Cool Moms".
- Wyatt and Deborah Trickle - They were two criminals that Pearle constantly chased after during her years as a policewoman. They were the ones who gave him Randy since after he was born the Trickles used to throw the infant Randy as her in order to distract her and escape. After they were finally arrested, Pearle visited them with Randy and tried to keep them in his life but they once again did the same, throwing the baby at her and trying to escape, only to be tasered by other cops. Afterwards, Pearle adopted their son.

- Pearle's surname was first revealed in the show's theme song, wherein it can be seen written on a check bearing Emily's signature.
- As shown in Secret Horse, Pearle used to be part of the Mounted Police until her horse went missing.
- Pearle owns a surveillance van for spying on people, as seen in "Room Parents".
- It is emblazoned with a logo that reads "Sir Veillance Carpet Cleaning", and features an armored knight.
- This is an obvious reference to the vehicle's true nature as a spy van.
